Multi-Foil Insulation

TLX Rafterfit - 30mm - is the latest advance in multi-foil for between rafter applications, which saves time and guarantees 0.2 U-Value when installed according with its BBA certificate

TLX Gold - 33mm - flexible reflective insulation with combined breather membrane is easily and quickly installed. TLX Gold delivers an air barrier; allows water vapour to pass through, and provides all the benefits of multi-foil insulation in one space saving product.

YBS SuperQuilt - 40mm - easy to fit, very flexible, multi-layer insulation that offers significant thermal benefits. Unlike our other multi-foils, SuperQuilt has aluminium foil facings, rather than aluminised polyester. BDA certified, and Class 1 fire rated for surface flame spread.

Actis Triso Super 10 - 30mm - is effective both in summer and winter: In winter, it retains heat within buildings. In summer, it reflects radiation preventing overheating of attic rooms. Certified as the equivalent of 210mm of mineral wool by BM TRADA Certification.

Actis Triso Sols - for floors and underfloor heating uniformly reflects the heat generated by hot water under floor heating systems. Eliminates thermal bridging at floor edges. Reduces linear heat loss and impact noises.

Multi-foils are most commonly used to complement rigid insulation boards, mineral wool slabs and occasionally mineral glass wool rolls. Generally Multi-foils are available from us in two thicknesses and 40mm.

YBS SuperQuilt (40mm) is arguably the highest specification product. At 40mm thickness SuperQuilt incorporates sheet aluminium in its outer facings, which offers better reflectivity, and performance against fire than the other brands that use aluminium/polymer composite materials.

TLX Silver is probably the best value on the market, offering the lowest price .... yet providing BBA certification, thereby ensuring compliance with Building Regulations provided the insulation guidelines included in the BBA Certificate are followed.

Single Foil and Bubble Foil Insulation

Condensation! Certification! Unless the single foil or bubble foil is being installed under-floor, or in a wall cavity, we only recommend these products for use in new-build properties. Why? Condensation. Please read the full details of these products before purchase.
Certification? We only know of one company, YBS, who has BBA Certification for their bubble foil product, Airtec, see below.

Airtec Bubble Foil, BBA Certified, multi-layer air bubble film insulation with aluminium bonded to either one face (Airtec-Single) or both faces(Airtec-Double)

Foiltec Single Foil BBA Certified, Foil-Tec Single and Foil-Tec Double are reinforced, multi-layer coated foil laminate products designed specifically designed for under floor insulation.

Breather Membranes and Breather Foil

Breather Membranes are designed to protect a property from the ingress of water vapour, while allowing potential condensation to evaporate. Membranes for roofs come in permeable and non-permeable varieties, and can also be used for walls. Breather membranes for walls should not be used on roofs. Breather Foils offer the foregoing benefits, while also being a heat reflecting membrane.

Tyvek Housewrap from DuPont, the market leading vapour permeable roofing underlay is an extremely water-resistant, airtight and vapour open membrane, cuts energy consumption, heating bills and greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere

Tyvek Supro from Du Pont , with a unique functional layer that is entirely made up of millions of unique micro fibres. These are bonded together to create a maze that stops water penetrating, whilst allowing water vapour to freely move through the fibrous pores.

Supro Plus from DuPont, with integral adhesive lap tape is a non-ventilated pitched roof system helps minimise the risk of condensation. Air infiltration and convective heat losses can also be reduced with the integral sealing all laps.

YBS Breather Foil-FR Roofing Membrane is multi-layer aluminium bubble film insulation. Specially developed for use in timber-frame and modular building construction, and can greatly increase the U-value of a roof or timber-frame wall.

Celotex General Purpose PIR Insulation Boards

Celotex and the new Part L 2010 Building Regulations

With the new regulations now in force, Celotex advise us that they are leading the way in promoting the impacts and advantages.

Meeting an overall 25% CO2 reduction typically requires 45% more insulation.

They state that a ‘fabric-first’ approach remains the key for achieving compliance, and with an improved thermal performance to 0.022W/mK, Celotex provides one of the best insulation products for meeting Part L 2010.

Expanded and Extruded Polystyrene Insulation Boards

Expanded polystyrene provides the poorest pro rata performance, but is commonly the cheapest option, and should be considered where performance against fire is not an issue, and where there may be a surfeit of available space, such as below a suspended floor.

Kay Metzeler EPS 70 flooring panels placed above or below a concrete slab or a precast concrete ground floor application

Rockwool Mineral Wool - RWA45 RW3, RW5, Rockwool SoundPro Flexi -Slabs, Cavity-Slabs, and Rockwool Fire Barrier System

Rockwool slabs and Rockwool Sound Pro Flexi-Slabs are high quality resin bonded water repellent batts that can be used for thermal, acoustic and fire insulation.
They are suitable for many applications including insulation for roofs, ceilings, floors, walls, and Rockwool Cavity Slabs for cavity walls.

Rockwool Fire Barrier Systems comprise semi-rigid fire retardant insulation that is intended to be clamped - top and bottom.

Knauf Universal Mineral Wool - RS45, RS60, RS80, RS100, RS128, RS140, RS200, plus RS33 (pallet quantities only) and Flexi-Slabs, and Knauf DriTherm Cavity Slabs

Knauf Universal Slabs and Knauf Flexible Slabs are unfaced, rock mineral wool slabs ... available from us in a wide range of densities from 33 to 200 kg/m³ ... it can be used in a wide range of thermal and acoustic insulation applications.

Knauf Universal Slabs are similar to Rockwool but with the added advantage of eco-friendly ECOSE® Technology, benefiting from a natural, formaldehyde-free, binder made from rapidly renewable organic materials instead of petroleum-based chemicals.

Glass and Mineral Wool Rolls

Glass mineral wool is made from sand, spun to form millions of fine fibres, with a resin used to bind the fibres to form a mat of material. Knauf now use eco-friendly ECOSE® Technology for a natural, formaldehyde-free, binding agent made from rapidly renewable organic materials instead of petroleum-based chemicals.

Knauf Loft Rolls offer a thermal conductivity level of 0.044W//mK while Isover Spacesaver offers 0.043W//mK (lower is better) and are laid above ceilings to a depth of 270mm - offering a thermal resistance of approximately 6.1m²K/W (higher is better) with the aim of providing a required 0.2 U-Value

Rafter Rolls are semi-rigid so that they may be friction fitted between rafters. Generally they offer a thermal conductivity level of 0.032W/mK. 200mm fitted at rafter level offers a thermal resistance of approximately 6.2m²K/W with the aim of providing a required 0.2 U-Value. By comparison, the equivalent requirement in a PIR board would be Celotex XR140 - 140mm.

Acoustic Partition Rolls generally offer a thermal resistance of approximately 2.33m²K/W per 100mm of thickness. Commonly a thickness of 65mm would be required to complement timber stud party walls, and 75mm for metal studs.

Environmentally friendly Insulation Rolls and Slabs

Currently there are two product types of eco-aware products, these are manufactured using either sheep's wool or recycled plastic bottles. Sheep's wool insulation is effective, but 15% of its composition is made up of chemicals to inhibit the growth of mold, and infestation. Non-itch insulation, manufactured for recycled plastic bottles, is a great way of putting use to plastics that would otherwise end up in land-fill. It is however, quite expensive.

Black Mountain natural sheep's wool offers improved thermal and acoustic ratings over most
man-made materials. It absorbs and releases moisture with no impact upon thermal performance

Plasterboards and Wallboards

Knauf Plasterboards are manufactured from the highest quality gypsum, with a purity of not less than 95%, making these plasterboards light, strong and easy to cut.

Wallboards in this section include Standard Plasterboards, Vapour Resistant, Moisture Resistant, and Fire Resistant, and those providing basic acoustic and thermal insulation.

Speedline Drywall Partitioning Systems are popular, high quality, drywall systems and accessories. The acoustic stud have design features that offer excellent installation benefits, including built in discontinuity for improved sound insulation. High performance in key speech frequency bands, excellent structural strength and integrity, and easy and fast to install.

Thermal Laminates or High Performance Insulated Plasterboards

Thermal Laminates are traditional gypsum wallboards bonded with additional insulating materials to provide thermal and acoustic performance, plus condensation control where required.

Gyproc ThermaLine comprise plasterboard laminated to a layer of rigid thermal insulation such as expanded polystyrene - ThermaLine Basic, extruded polystyrene - ThermaLine Plus, and phenolic foam - ThermaLine Super.

Knauf Thermal Laminates prevent wastage of heat through the walls, which helps to reduce energy required for heating, thereby offering excellent thermal resistance whilst minimising costs, space requirements, and loss of valuable room space.

VentureTape and VentureClad

Venture, part of 3M, are considered by many to be the de-facto standard for building and construction.

Ideal for use with insulation, heating, air-conditioning, ventilation, construction, industrial, or glazing, we can supply single or double coated films, foams, tapes, papers, and more.

VentureTape is most commonly used by our customers for the taping of multi-foils, heat reflective membranes, thermo reflective foils, and aluminium faced multi-purpose rigid foam (PUR /PIR) insulation boards.

VentureClad five-ply laminated foil is a puncture resistant facing for exterior and interior applications.

Applicable to foam glass, mineral fibre insulation, nitrile rubber foam, and semi-rigid and rigid foam insulation. Specify for replacement of fab and mastics, butyl duct wrap, and other interior and exterior jacketing materials.

Acoustic Insulation - Specialised High Performance

Karma Acoustics were initially launched by E-Cousti, with a range of products based around innovative acoustic membranes, providing a wide range of solutions.

Karma is steadily establishing itself as the market leader, offering a wide range of competitively priced, acoustic solutions for both new build and refurbishment projects for walls, partitions, floors and other structural applications.

Elastomeric Rubberised Insulation Tubes and Sheets

The expanded closed-cell structure of Armaflex Insulation makes it an efficient insulation. Formaldehyde free, low VOCs, fibre free, dust free.

Armaflex’s closed-cell structure resists mold and mildew, as well as heat and moisture flow.

Armacel Elastomeric Insulation prevents condensation and energy losses. Class 'O' Armaflex is the flexible, closed cell, elastomeric, nitrile rubber insulation that offers reliable protection against condensation and effectively prevents energy loss.

Accessories and other Complementary Products

The supply of insulation products is our mission, rather than fixings and other associated items such as tools, screws, nailable plugs et cetera.

However, we do supply some of the larger/heavier complementary products such as Drywall Adhesives and Fillers, Specialist Building Tapes, Insulation Clips, and so on.

Delivery charges for Telephone orders
Telephone orders incur an additional charge due to the Charge Card fraud screening measures that we are forced to undertake.
We will not accept Credit and/or Debit Card settlement for telephone orders where the Billing Address and the Delivery Address differ. In such cases, customers are required to pay by Bank Transfer or by Cheque.

Deliveries to EC Member States, and to areas outside of the EC, are generally calculated on the assumption that the the Buyer pays for the insurance and the transportation charges from a delivery point they nominate within the United Kingdom.

We work with a number freight handling agents and can offer buyers information relevant to deliveries to their countries.

Arrangements can be made for VAT to be paid in the country to which the goods are being exported. However, conditions may apply.
