TLX RafterFit 0.18 U-Value Under Rafter Solution

TLX Silver multi-foil insulation combinations designed for retro-fit rafter level insulation applications where IF Felt, rather than a breather membrane, has been fitted and where rafters are set at 40 or 600mm centres.

When using 1F Felt rather than the more modern breather membranes, the reqirements for airspaces and insulation values change. Please check.

Achieving a U-Value - of 0.2 using our Special Offers

Building Control control commonly requires a U-Value of 0.2 to be achieved in a typical roof construction. We have assemble packages of the correct quantities and specifications of insulation and dry lining items used in TLX Silver's BBA Certificate to achieve 0.2 U-Value.

We have assumed that all of the elements not included within our packages, but required by the BBA Certificate will be supplied from other sources. These might include typical roofing tiles or slates; tiling and spacer battens; pre-installed breather membrane; the provision of appropriately sized air-spaces, wooden battens and polystyrene spacers, et cetera.

Please ensure that you follow the instructions and calculations of the BBA Certificate relevant to the products included within our Special Offers packages. Always seek Building Control approval, if required, prior to purchasing our special offers packages, or other insulation and / or related products from us.

Quantities

As an example, when calculating the quantities required to cover a particular area, we have made the following assumptions regarding the typical yield anticipated from each item.

Celotex Tuff-R 70mm: Board size 1200mm x 240mm = 2.88m²: Expected yield = 3.12m²:

TLX Silver: 1200mm x 10metres = 12m²: Yield after overlap = 11.25m²

Generic Aluminized Tape 100mm x 45 linear metres.

Knauf Vapourshield Plasterboard 1200mm x 240mm = 2.88m²: Yield = 2.88m²:

Our calculations provide only nominal sizes, and it is the responsibility of the customer to check these figures, as variables such as rafter thickness, losses due to unevenly spaced rafters, unusual profiles, et cetera may influence the quantity requirements.

Should extra quantities be required, these can be purchased at the appropriate 'quantity discount' price. Example: If the package includes 18 Celotex Boards, extra boards can be purchased at the 18 plus boards price from the "Shop Online" page.
